California Congresswoman Julia Brownley has recently voiced her views on various significant issues through her social media presence. Brownley has been a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 26th District since 2013 after succeeding David Dreier. Her comments have focused on the stock market, public health concerns, and the welfare of veterans.

On April 4, 2025, Brownley expressed concerns about the current state of the stock market, stating, “The stock market just suffered its biggest drop in five years – and it’s only getting worse. American consumers, businesses, farmers, and industries are grappling with the fallout from Trump’s reckless trade war, while the threat of recession looms larger by the day.” This tweet sheds light on the economic challenges arising from the ongoing trade issues under the Trump administration.

Brownley also addressed public health issues on April 7, 2025, marking World Health Day. She remarked, “On #WorldHealthDay, we must continue to sound the alarm on the Trump administration’s deadly assault on public health – here at home and around the world. Recently, Trump and RFK Jr. unlawfully fired 20,000 public servants at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.” She highlighted the need for continued focus on public health and voiced concerns about the staffing changes within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Finally, on the same day, Brownley criticized a recent decision affecting veterans, stating, “The cruelty of the Trump Administration knows no bounds. The VA just shut down a critical program that helps keep veterans from becoming homeless – all in the name of ‘government efficiency’? 15,000 veterans who relied on the Veterans Affairs Servicing Purchase (VASP) program.” She brought attention to the closure of a veterans’ support program and the potential negative impact on those who depend on it for housing stability.
