Assemblymember Diane Dixon of Newport Beach is a co-author of Assembly Concurrent Resolution 76, designating May as Small Business Month. Dixon, with over three decades in business, emphasizes the importance of small businesses in California’s economy. These enterprises create most jobs and account for more than 90% of the state’s business community, employing nearly half of the private-sector workforce.
Dixon recognized three small businesses from Assembly District 72 this month for their significant contributions to their communities. The businesses were nominated by customers for their impact on local neighborhoods.
Laguna Coffee Company, located near the beach, is known for its high-quality coffee made from beans sourced from Central America and Africa. Owned by a mother-daughter team, it aims to connect people through coffee.
Chuponcito in Aliso Viejo offers authentic Mexican recipes and pastries in a welcoming atmosphere. They focus on providing flavorful cuisine.
The Birdhouse Indoor Golf in Laguna Hills provides an indoor golf experience with technology that measures various aspects of play. It serves as both a practice venue and social gathering spot.
“Small businesses are vital to our economy and I am a proud supporter of recognizing their contributions to California,” said Assemblymember Dixon. She advocates against excessive regulation and taxation from Sacramento, urging legislative action to reduce these burdens.
