The Grinnell Pioneers, featuring former Mater Dei High School standout Nick Courtney, were defeated 118-86 by the John Carroll Blue Streaks in the NCAA Division III Basketball Tournament on Friday, March 6.

The contest started at 4:10 p.m. at Shirk Center and marked the teams’ first meeting in this year’s tournament.
