Later that day, Brownley addressed a public health issue concerning the spread of measles among unvaccinated communities, attributing the problem to misinformation from the previous administration. In her tweet, she warned: “Measles is spreading rapidly in unvaccinated communities – and the Trump Administration’s dangerous spread of vaccine misinformation has made this outbreak harder to contain and, tragically, more deadly. The measles vaccine is a long-proven, safe, and effective way to prevent.”
Additionally, Brownley criticized actions taken by the Trump administration in a separate matter involving the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Brownley, who is a graduate of George Washington University and American University, has been vocal about both educational and public safety initiatives. Born in Aiken, South Carolina, she now resides in Westlake Village as she continues her legislative responsibilities.
