Congresswoman Julia Brownley, who has been serving California’s 26th district in the U.S. Congress since 2013, shared several posts on April 3, 2025, addressing issues significant to her constituents and the broader American public.
On the topic of food assistance, Brownley highlighted a crucial dependency on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). She stated, “1 in 8 Americans rely on SNAP, including 17 million children, 8 million seniors, 1.2 million veterans, and 4.5 million people with disabilities. Nearly 20,000 people across Ventura County and the Conejo Valley depend on this vital program to put food on the table.”
She also engaged the community’s artistic talents, encouraging high school students to participate in a yearly event. On this, she stated, “Attention #CA26 High School Artists! Each year, I encourage talented young artists in grades 9-12 throughout #VenturaCounty and the Conejo Valley to participate in the Congressional Art Competition. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase our students’ creativity.”
Additionally, Congresswoman Brownley criticized actions taken by the Trump Administration regarding environmental policy. She noted, “The Trump Administration is recklessly attacking the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and putting our communities at risk. Yesterday, House Natural Resources Committee Democrats called out these dangerous attacks.”
