Congresswoman Julia Brownley, representing California’s 26th district since 2013, shared her thoughts on National Police Week and Armed Forces Day through a series of tweets. Brownley, who previously served in the California State Assembly from 2006 to 2012, expressed her appreciation for law enforcement officers and military personnel.

On May 16, 2025, Brownley tweeted: “Every day, law enforcement officers throughout Ventura County, the Conejo Valley, and across the country put themselves in harm’s way to keep our communities safe. This #NationalPoliceWeek, and every week, we recognize their service, their sacrifice, and their unwavering”. Her message highlights the daily risks faced by law enforcement officers nationwide.

Later that day, she posted another tweet stating: “During #NationalPoliceWeek, law enforcement officers from across the country descend on Washington, DC to honor the fallen and recognize the service of our nation’s heroes. Alongside them, first responders including paramedics, nurses, and medical personnel provide critical”. This tweet underscores the importance of recognizing both law enforcement officers and first responders during this commemorative week.

On May 17, 2025, Congresswoman Brownley tweeted about Armed Forces Day: “This #ArmedForcesDay we recognize the brave individuals who serve our nation in uniform both here at home and abroad. Our servicemembers and their families are the heart and soul of America’s defense. Words are not enough to express our country’s gratitude to those who have”. In this message, she honors military personnel for their service both domestically and internationally.
