U.S. Representative Lou Correa, who serves California’s 46th district, addressed two key policy issues in recent social media posts: clean energy tax credits and the use of psychedelics for veterans’ health.

On August 13, 2025, Correa posted about the potential expiration of federal clean energy tax credits. He wrote, “Right now, Americans can save thousands of dollars through clean energy tax credits. This common-sense energy policy helps protect our planet and keep money in our pockets. But these tax credits are set to expire thanks to the Republican Big Ugly Bill, which is making it more”. Two days later, on August 15, Correa turned his attention to mental health treatment for veterans. He stated, “The evidence is overwhelming. Psychedelics cure the invisible wounds of our combat veterans. Now we’re seeing others, like Rick Perry, speaking to the effectiveness of these breakthrough therapies. Let’s use this momentum and normalize the use of psychedelics so that others in”.

Lou Correa has served as a member of Congress since 2017 after replacing Loretta Sánchez. Before joining Congress, he was a member of the California State Assembly from 1998 to 2004 and served in the California Senate between 2006 and 2014; he also held a seat on the Orange County Board of Supervisors from 2005 to 2006. Correa was born in East Los Angeles in 1958 and currently resides in Santa Ana at age 65. He graduated with a BA from California State University, Fullerton in 1980 and earned his JD from UCLA in 1985.
