Rep. Lou Correa, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 46th district, addressed several national and international issues in a series of posts on social media this week.
On October 13, 2025, Correa recognized Indigenous Peoples Day by stating, “Today marks Indigenous Peoples Day, which honors America’s first peoples. I pray you all join me in celebrating indigenous culture and fighting to protect tribal lands and sovereignty.”
The following day, Correa commented on the Middle East ceasefire, writing, “The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and today’s return of all the hostages lays the roadmap to long term peace. After two years of darkness, we must do all we can to support a two-state solution that ensures Gaza gets the humanitarian aid it needs and that there is long” on October 14, 2025.
Later that same day, Correa criticized recent tariffs imposed by the Administration. He wrote, “The Adminstration’s tariffs are a direct tax on American consumers. We should be looking at ways to cut costs for families on Main Street, not increase them! https://t.co/476QFEk6PZ”.
Correa has served in Congress since 2017 after replacing Loretta Sánchez. He previously held positions in the California State Assembly, California Senate, and Orange County Board of Supervisors. Born in East Los Angeles in 1958 and currently residing in Santa Ana, Correa holds degrees from California State University, Fullerton and UCLA.
