Representative Lou Correa, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 46th district, has recently used his social media platform to address a range of legislative and oversight issues. His posts highlight ongoing efforts to support veterans, protect consumer rights, and uphold constitutional standards in law enforcement.
On July 14, 2025, Correa wrote about his meeting with VA Secretary Doug Collins: “Met with VA Secretary Doug Collins to discuss ways we can better serve our vets. Too many of these heroes return home with invisible wounds. From psychedelic-assisted therapies to housing, they deserve access to the care they need. Let’s keep fighting to support our vets.”
The following day, July 15, 2025, Correa announced new legislation focused on consumer protection: “It takes a second to subscribe online. It should be just as easy to cancel it.
This week I introduced the Consumer OPT-IN Act to make sure Americans can choose how they spend their money. Legislation like this preserves the consumers’ right to cancel services and subscriptions”.
On July 16, 2025, Correa expressed concern regarding recent actions by immigration authorities and congressional oversight responsibilities: “The Homeland Security Budget just doubled. American Citizens being detained by masked ‘ICE agents,’ in violation of our Constitutional rights. This is still the USA. Our U.S. Constitution is still the supreme law of the land. Our job in Congress is oversight. I just asked to”.
Lou Correa has served in Congress since 2017 after replacing Loretta Sánchez and represents constituents from Santa Ana and surrounding areas in California’s 46th district. Before joining Congress, he served in several public offices including the California State Assembly (1998-2004), Orange County Board of Supervisors (2005-2006), and California Senate (2006-2014). Born in East Los Angeles in 1958 and currently residing in Santa Ana, Correa holds degrees from California State University, Fullerton (BA) and UCLA School of Law (JD).
