U.S. Representative Lou Correa, who serves California’s 46th district, recently used his social media platform to address issues affecting veterans, law enforcement officers, and national healthcare policy.
On May 13, 2026, Correa highlighted the mental health challenges faced by military veterans. He stated, “Our veterans put their lives on the line to defend our country, and far too many come home carrying invisible wounds. They deserve access to every effective resource available to help treat PTSD and support their recovery. The science shows that psychedelics are delivering”.
Later that day, Correa expressed support for law enforcement officers in a separate post. He wrote, “The ‘thin blue line’ stands between our families and harm. I have always supported law enforcement officers and their families, and they have worked every day to keep our communities safe. Despite the risks, long hours, and constant stress, hundreds of thousands of officers wake”.
On May 15, 2026, Correa criticized the Trump Administration’s approach to healthcare policy. He posted: “The Trump Administration has already taken healthcare away from millions of Americans, and now they want to put even more livelihoods at risk based on partisan accusations of fraud rather than conducting a fair investigation. The Administration should be focused on making life”.
Correa has represented California’s 46th district in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Loretta Sánchez. Prior to his current role in Congress, he served in the California State Assembly from 1998 to 2004, was a member of the Orange County Board of Supervisors from 2005 to 2006, and held office in the California Senate from 2006 to 2014. Born in East Los Angeles in 1958 and currently residing in Santa Ana at age 65, Correa earned his undergraduate degree from California State University, Fullerton in 1980 and received a JD from UCLA in 1985.
