U.S. Representative Lou Correa, who serves California’s 46th district and has held the seat since 2017, posted a series of statements on April 30, 2026, addressing issues ranging from historical remembrance to current national security and foreign policy concerns.
In his first post commemorating the anniversary of the fall of Saigon, Correa stated on April 30: “On the 51st anniversary of the fall of Saigon, I join the Vietnamese community in a solemn day of remembrance. On this day, hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children embarked on a journey to the U.S. in search of freedom, with many rebuilding their lives in Orange https://t.co/z3imz1Y4mm”.
Later that day, Correa addressed economic and foreign policy concerns related to ongoing conflict in Iran. In his tweet at 19:34 UTC he wrote: “At a time when American families are struggling to make ends meet, the war in Iran is draining billions of dollars a day from our economy. Congress must reclaim its constitutional war powers and stop this war immediately.

On national security legislation, Correa expressed opposition to FISA reauthorization. At 21:43 UTC he posted: “I again voted NO on FISA. I do not trust this Administration, as they have ordered federal agencies to share information in order to surveil and target U.S. citizens for political purposes. There are still no guardrails on this bill to protect Americans.”
Correa’s comments come amid ongoing debates about U.S. military involvement abroad and domestic surveillance laws. The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) has been subject to criticism over privacy concerns and alleged misuse by federal agencies.
Representative Lou Correa has served California’s 46th district since replacing Loretta Sánchez in 2017. Before his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the California State Assembly from 1998 to 2004, served on the Orange County Board of Supervisors from 2005 to 2006, and was part of the California Senate from 2006 to 2014. Born in East Los Angeles in 1958 and currently residing in Santa Ana at age 65, Correa holds degrees from California State University, Fullerton (BA) and UCLA (JD).
