Representative Lou Correa, currently serving in the U.S. Congress for California’s 46th district, actively engages with his constituency through various initiatives and events. Since assuming office in 2017, Correa has been involved in the promotion and inspiration of youth, as seen in his recent social media updates.

On April 15, Correa encouraged high school artists to submit their works for the Congressional Art Competition. “Calling all high school artists: submissions for the Congressional Art Competition are due by April 17th! The winning art piece will be showcased inside the U.S. Capitol Building,” he tweeted. He emphasized the significance of art in expressing individual style and community experiences.

The following day, April 16, Correa shared his experiences with young students from Orange County visiting Washington, D.C. “Last week, some of our young Orange County students stopped by to say hello while visiting Washington, D.C. From immigration to education to healthcare, it was great to hear about the issues that matter most to them,” he remarked, highlighting the importance of understanding and addressing the concerns of the younger generation.

On April 17, Correa attended the Congressional App Challenge showcase, where Orange County’s winners demonstrated an application named Aries. “I stopped by the @CongressionalAC showcase last week to see our App Challenge winners present Aries—a desktop app that uses AI to make technology more accessible,” he tweeted. Correa recognized the innovative spirit of local students, reflecting the potential and creativity inherent in upcoming technological endeavors.

Lou Correa was born in East Los Angeles, California, in 1958, and he currently resides in Santa Ana. He has a rich history of public service, having served in various roles including the California State Assembly and Senate, and the Orange County Board of Supervisors. His academic background includes a BA from California State University, Fullerton, and a JD from the University of California, Los Angeles.
