Rep. Lou Correa, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 46th district, addressed two separate issues on his social media account in December 2025: a car accident involving Anaheim high school students and the detention of Donna Hughes-Brown, a long-term U.S. resident.

On December 11, 2025, Correa posted about an incident in Anaheim involving local students: “I am monitoring car vs pedestrian accident involving several Anaheim high school cross county students, boys and girls, that were struck by a vehicle, while standing on a sidewalk, waiting at a red light. I am praying that all of those involved recover quickly. I will continue to”. Later that day, he provided an update from law enforcement: “We just got an update from Anaheim Police, all of the students appear to be recovering, with one student still waiting for results of additional medical tests.  Our prayers with the families.”

In another post on December 11, Correa commented on federal immigration enforcement actions: “Presdient Trump promised to go after the worst criminals.  Detaining Donna Hughes-Brown, who’s been in the USA for 48 years, whose son is a US Marine, and brother a retired Army Colonel, make our streets safer? Many cases of parents of US Marines being apprehended.  These”.

Lou Correa has served in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Loretta Sánchez and previously held positions in both the California State Assembly and Senate as well as the Orange County Board of Supervisors. Born in East Los Angeles in 1958 and currently residing in Santa Ana, Correa holds degrees from California State University, Fullerton and UCLA School of Law.
