Rep. Lou Correa, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 46th district since 2017, addressed a range of political and community issues in a series of tweets posted on April 29 and April 30, 2026.
On April 29, Correa criticized the current version of the Farm Bill being advanced by Republicans. He stated: “For years, the Farm Bill has been a product of Democrats and Republicans working together. Not this year. This Republican bill will cut food assistance programs that low-income families depend on and help American farmers stay in business.”
Later that day, Correa commented on civil liberties concerns related to actions taken by the Trump Administration. He wrote: “The Trump Administration has a track record of undermining Americans’ civil liberties, including using federal agencies to illegally invade the privacy of American citizens. I’ll keep pushing for accountability and urging my colleagues to reject any bill that allows warrantless”
On April 30, Correa participated in a commemoration with the Vietnamese community marking the anniversary of Saigon’s fall.
Correa has represented California’s 46th District since replacing Loretta Sánchez in Congress in 2017 and previously served in both houses of California’s state legislature as well as on the Orange County Board of Supervisors. Born in East Los Angeles in 1958 and currently residing in Santa Ana, Correa holds degrees from California State University, Fullerton (BA) and UCLA (JD).
