Rep. Lou Correa, who represents California’s 46th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently used his social media platform to address a range of legislative actions and policy concerns, including healthcare subsidies, the impact of streaming platform mergers on jobs, and affordable housing legislation.
On January 8, 2026, Correa announced his support for extending Affordable Care Act subsidies: “I just voted to extend critical Affordable Care Act subsidies to hardworking families on Main Street. These subsidies are about keeping health care affordable for the people who work hard and play by the rules.”

Correa has served as a member of Congress since 2017 after succeeding Loretta Sánchez and previously held positions in both state and local government. He represented California’s 46th District after serving in the State Assembly from 1998 to 2004, in the State Senate from 2006 to 2014, and on the Orange County Board of Supervisors from 2005 to 2006. Born in East Los Angeles in 1958 and currently residing in Santa Ana, Correa holds degrees from California State University, Fullerton (BA) and UCLA (JD).
