U.S. Congressman Lou Correa, who represents California’s 46th district, recently shared updates on social media regarding his engagement with students and a statement about recent news coverage involving Cesar Chavez.
On March 17, 2026, Correa posted about meeting with students from Cal State DC and highlighted the participation of two interns in his office this semester: “Great meeting with Cal State DC students today. My office is fortunate to host two of their scholars, Nancy and Baran, as interns this semester.”
The following day, Correa addressed reports concerning allegations against Cesar Chavez. In an English-language post dated March 18, 2026, he stated: “Here is my statement regarding the New York Times report on abuse allegations involving Cesar Chavez.” He also issued a similar message in Spanish on the same date: “Mi declaración sobre el reportaje de New York Times acerca de las acusaciones de abuso que involucran a Cesar Chavez.”
Lou Correa has represented California’s 46th district in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Loretta Sánchez. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the California State Assembly from 1998 to 2004, on the Orange County Board of Supervisors from 2005 to 2006, and in the California Senate from 2006 to 2014. Born in East Los Angeles in 1958 and currently residing in Santa Ana at age 65, Correa graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a BA before earning a JD from UCLA.
