On April 2, 2026, Correa recognized public safety officers in Orange County: “Our public safety officers risk their lives every day to protect and serve families in Orange County. Lou Correa has represented California’s 46th District in Congress since replacing Loretta Sánchez in 2017. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the California State Assembly from 1998 to 2004, as well as on the California Senate from 2006 to 2014 and the Orange County Board of Supervisors from 2005 to 2006. Born in East Los Angeles in 1958 and now residing in Santa Ana at age 65, Correa holds a BA from California State University, Fullerton (1980) and a JD from UCLA (1985).
