Student Design Contest
Calling All T-shirt Designers!
Get creative over winter break and design a t-shirt to be sold in the brand-new Coastline shop, The Pier. Just think: your artwork could be the first featured design of Coastline's Student-Designed Collection.
The Prizes
Build your portfolio just by participating! But winners get bragging rights.
The top three submissions will be featured and sold in The Pier’s new Student-Designed Collection along with a small highlight of the student. If the design allows, it may even be featured on other items such as mugs, posters, or stickers.
1st: $100, T-Shirt of your design, Coastline Swag Bag
2nd: $50, T-Shirt of your design, Coastline Swag Bag
3rd: $25, T-Shirt of your design, Coastline Swag Bag
The Specifics
Submit between Wednesday, December 15th 2020 - Sunday, January 17th, 2021 (11:59pm PST)
Email your submission(s) to marketing@coastline.edu with the following:
subject line: "The Pier Student Design Contest Submission"
your full name
student ID #
attached graphic file
Design must feature one (and only one) Coastline logo - either the Coastline shield logo or nameplate logo. Logo files can be downloaded from Coastline Branding.
Logo use must be in good taste, with no adjustments to the aspect ratio of the logo used - in other words, logo(s) may be resized as needed but the original dimensions must remain intact.
Complementary imagery to the college may be used (ex. ocean or beach themes, dolphins, etc.), as long as it is not incorporated directly into the Coastline logo. Absolutely no additions or edits to the original logo used will be accepted.
There is no required theme for designs, but some to consider for inspiration would be:

Goodbye 2020, Hello 2021 at Coastline: 2020 was rough, so let’s make 2021 your year. How do you plan to rock 2021 at Coastline?
What’s Your Path?: Coastline offers over 80 different degrees and certificates that can lead to an ocean of possible careers. What path are you taking?
Students will need to submit any complete image files in addition to a full mock-up of the actual shirt design. Accepted file formats: JPG, PNG, PDF.
Each Coastline student may submit up to five (5) entries.
The Rules
Designs should be the original, unpublished work of a current Coastline student.
Work cannot contain any copyrighted imagery such at licensed characters, logos, likenesses, or phrases.
Absolutely no offensive imagery or wording will be accepted.
A submission to this contest means if a student's design is selected, the student consents to having his/her/their design reproduced and sold by Coastline College without receiving monetary compensation from those sales.
The selected design(s) will become property of Coastline College. Winning students may display their design(s) in a portfolio or personal collection but may not sell or reproduce the design(s) for commercial purposes once their design has been chosen as winner(s) of this contest.
