5.4% of citizens unemployed in Orange County in 2021

Orange County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.4% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 91,539 people out of the 3,182,923 living in Orange County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Orange County has increased compared to the 5% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Orange County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 6.5%.

Of the 1,599,083 people who had a job during that time, 2,252 were employed in the Armed Forces and 1,596,831 belonged to the civilian labor force.
