UC Irvine has been once again acknowledged in the annual national rankings by U.S. News & World Report for its graduate programs. Three of its programs have achieved top 10 positions among public universities. The areas that have placed in the top tier underscore UC Irvine's status as a leading public research institution covering various disciplines.
UC Irvine's public health program made a notable advancement this year, climbing 19 positions to secure the 27th spot overall. Among public universities, it currently stands at 17th, reflecting significant progress, particularly for the Joe C. Wen School of Population & Public Health.
As part of the assessment, U.S. News & World Report has categorized medical programs by tiers instead of specific rankings. UC Irvine’s School of Medicine is classified in Tier 2 for research and Tier 3 for primary care, highlighting its strong performance in these fields.
Due to a change in evaluation criteria for this year, programs in the arts, physical sciences, and biological sciences were not assessed. Nevertheless, UC Irvine continues to be recognized as one of the top doctorate-granting institutions across the nation, supporting over 6,000 graduate students in advanced studies and research pursuits.
Overall, these achievements affirm the university’s commitment and excellence in academia and research.
