Assemblymember Diane Dixon (R-Newport Beach) will host a Fentanyl Town Hall in Laguna Beach on Wednesday, October 2. This event follows her recent recognition of National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day and aims to increase awareness and education about the fentanyl crisis.

“It is essential that we continue to speak about the pervasive issue of fentanyl and the opioid crisis,” said Assemblymember Dixon. “Join me next week to learn from a panel of experts on how to protect your family.”

The event will feature speakers such as Dr. Farah Khorassani, an associate clinical professor at UC Irvine School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences; Sergeant Gunsolley from the OC Sheriff’s Department; and Perla Mendoza, founder of nonprofit Project Eli. Following their presentations, attendees can watch Assemblymember Dixon’s filmed conversation with Perla Mendoza and Senator Janet Nguyen discussing the dangers of fentanyl and Project Eli.

The town hall will be held at the Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Center from 4-5:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP by calling 949-798-7221. Free Narcan, a fentanyl overdose reversal agent, will be provided.
