Congresswoman Julia Brownley, representing California’s 26th district, recently posted a series of messages on her social media profile reflecting on various topics ranging from tributes to advocating for veterans to promoting artistic competition.

In a tweet posted on April 10, 2025, Brownley honored Dolores Huerta, describing her friend as "a trailblazer, civil rights icon, labor leader, and fierce advocate for social justice." She highlighted Huerta's significant contributions as co-founder of the United Farm Workers and her pivotal role in organizing "the national grape boycotts and the historic struggle."

On April 11, 2025, Brownley criticized President Trump's return-to-office mandate for its impact on the Veterans Administration workforce. Expressing concern, she stated that it is a "dangerous decision that’s disrupting care, driving out providers, and creating chaos across the VA." Brownley noted that VA workers face cramped conditions, loss of remote work tools, and other pressures under this mandate "crammed into closets, stripped of remote tools that expanded mental health care, and pushed out."

Also on April 11, 2025, Brownley reminded her followers of the approaching deadline for the Congressional Art Competition, urging young artists from Ventura County and the Conejo Valley to participate. She encouraged artwork submissions from students in grades 9-12 before the April 17 deadline "Submissions...are due in one week!"

Julia Brownley currently serves in the U.S. Congress, a position she has held since 2013. Before her tenure in Congress, Brownley served in the California State Assembly. Her prior advanced educational qualifications include degrees from George Washington University and American University.
