Congresswoman Julia Brownley, who has represented California's 26th district in the U.S. Congress since 2013, recently shared her thoughts on social media regarding both a local tragedy and national political issues. Her comments reflect her ongoing engagement with community matters and national legislative affairs.

On March 10, 2025, Congresswoman Brownley expressed condolences for the loss of Engineer Thomas "Tommy" James Daniel Minadeo from the Ventura County Fire Department. She remarked, "It is with a heavy heart that I join our community in mourning the loss of Engineer Thomas 'Tommy' James Daniel Minadeo, a dedicated member of the Ventura County Fire Department for nearly a decade." She noted his dedication to service even after being diagnosed with job-related cancer last year.

In another post on March 10, she commemorated his legacy by stating, "His bravery, kindness, and unwavering dedication to service will never be forgotten. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched and the community he helped keep safe." She extended her thoughts to his family, friends, and colleagues during this time of grief.

The following day, on March 11, Brownley criticized House Republicans for their approach to recent legislative actions. She commented on their inability to achieve bipartisan consensus: "House Republicans have once again failed to negotiate a bipartisan agreement that puts the needs of the American people first." She described their passing of a partisan Continuing Resolution as handing over "a blank check."
