On January 29, Brownley stated, "I joined 153 of my Democratic colleagues in sending a letter to the Trump Administration demanding clarity on the executive order that could freeze funding from the Inflation Reduction Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. These laws are essential for critical infrastructure…" This tweet underscores her apprehension regarding possible interruptions to crucial infrastructure projects due to administrative decisions.

Later that day, she commented on another executive decision by saying, "Trump's executive order banning transgender servicemembers from openly serving in the military is an absolute disgrace. It’s not just an attack on the bravery and patriotism of transgender individuals who proudly serve – it’s an outright insult to the countless transgender…" Here, Brownley criticized what she perceives as discriminatory policies against transgender individuals in military service.

In another tweet posted later that evening, Brownley remarked on federal aid policies: "The Trump Administration’s attempt to freeze all federal aid was a direct attack on hardworking Americans. While it’s my understanding that some of the most sweeping and harmful efforts have been halted for now, the fight is far from over. His Executive Order freezing funds from…" This reflects her ongoing concern about attempts to restrict federal support which she believes impacts American citizens negatively.
