Lou Correa, a U.S. Congress member representing California's 46th district, shared his views on social issues through a series of tweets. Correa has been serving in Congress since 2017, following his tenure in the California State Assembly and Senate, as well as the Orange County Board of Supervisors.

On March 5, 2025, Correa emphasized the significance of Social Security as a promise for hard-working individuals to retire comfortably. He pointed out that "Social Security is a promise: if you work hard, you will be able to retire comfortably. All who work in this country contribute to the Social Security program." He highlighted that undocumented migrants contribute but do not receive benefits.

Later that day, he addressed concerns regarding veterans' care post-service. Correa tweeted about the challenges faced by veterans due to delayed benefits and unemployment issues. He noted that "Our veterans deserve quality care after fighting for our freedom. Delayed benefits, unattended claims, and unemployment are not the way to treat them." He questioned whether job losses at the VA would impact veteran employees.

On March 6, 2025, Correa raised alarm over potential delays in Social Security payments due to workforce reductions. He tweeted: "ICYMI: Social Security payments may face delay as workforce cuts are incoming." He also expressed concern about possible delays in tax return processing.
